The Membership Enhancement Program covers seven key elements:
1) One of the more visible parts of the Membership Enhancement Program is the Couple of the Year Program. Beginning at the Chapter level, this is a method of honoring couples for their commitment to the ideals of the GWRRA. After serving as their Chapter Couple they can attend their District's selection process. Later the District Couples may attend their Region's selection process and eventually the Region Couples can move on to the International Couple of the Year selection process at Wing Ding.
2) An extremely important part of the Membership Enhancement Program is the Member Retention Program. This program deals with proper use of the Area Report and data Management (GWRRA Membership Data).
3) Another very important part of the Membership Enhancement is the Public Relations Program. The Public Relations Guide is available at the Public Relations section of the M.E.D. website.
4) The GWRRA motto is "Friends for Fun Safety and Knowledge." First and foremost, GWRRA is a social organization of friends. We have an award-winning Rider Education to help with the "safety" aspect. We have a fantastic Leadership Training Division to help with "knowledge". In the Member Enhancement Program we have the "Fun Activities Guide" to cover the "fun". If members aren't having fun, they won't stay on as members. If we lose them, they lose out on "safety & knowledge". So, there is a guidebook that provides a huge number of ideas on how we can have fun. This is a great tool for the Chapter Directors to use.
5) We had some new Programs moved into the Membership Enhancement as of August 1st, 2006, the first being Communications. International Communications Coordinators GWRRA has made some great changes to the site and have others they are working on to improve the accessibility of all the information on the site
6) Recruiting is the second program to be incorporated into the ME. At this time a Connecticut GWRRA District Coordinator have not yet been appointed for this position.
7) The Special Interest Groups (SIGS) have also been incorporated into the ME which is still in the early development stage.
